Got some new stuff on the page today, hope everyone likes it. Working on buying a new camera so I can get the quality pics I'm looking for. Heading out to hit a still high, still cold river to see if I can't talk a musky into at least a handshake, then BOAT SHOPPING!! My circa 1950's motor shit the bed last summer and I've decided to find something new to me hopefully with a jet motor (river gets a little low in late summer). Wish me luck my fellow water floggers, bug chuckers, and lip rippers!
Interesting concept. I've never fly fished for muskies but just maybe I might try it. I've got the perfect spot for it in min already. Big Mantrap near Park Rapids, Minn. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks a lot better than before! And I like your wounded minnows a lot. I recognize marabou for the tail, but the red you use (blood I presume), what kind of material is that?
ReplyDeleteThank you Stefaan, I appreciate that. I tie the wounded minnow with a marabou tail and also with rubber skirting, The blood is red marabou. I tie it in a bunch of sizes for differant baitfish. The way to tie it is covered in the you tube footage if you are interested in tying some for yourself and they are available through Rainy's flies.
ReplyDeleteIt takes time to build a decent blog, so just take your time, and it will come!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog, will follow it for sure.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking flies, loved those wounded minnows.
Nice photos too.
Keep on rockin.
